Idle Muse Theatre Company’s Great Escapes Raffle

Idle Muse Theatre Company
Dear Friend of Idle Muse,

As the temperatures begin to drop and trees begin to change their colors, like most Chicagoans, we at Idle Muse Theatre Company have thoughts of “escape” on our mind.

Our upcoming Eighth Season, in fact, will explore the concept of “escapes” in depth, beginning withEnchanted April, a play which follows four very different women as they seek to escape the dreary sadness of interwar London, and discover more than they ever dreamed in a seaside villa in Italy. With our move to a new performance space, at Rivendell Theatre, Idle Muse will be following their example – and we want you to do the same!

Just as the Chicago winter begins to chill us all, Idle Muse offers you the chance to make an escape of your own, to exciting – and warm – destinations, including Cabo San Lucas and Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Idle Muse Theatre Company’s Great Escapes holiday raffle begins today, offering a wide array of escapes – to tropical destinations, nights on the town, and relaxing afternoons!

We’ll be selling only 200 tickets, so you have a 1 in 100 chance of winning a vacation, and an even better chance of taking home a prize!
Our Grand Prize Escapes include…
A one-week stay in a luxurious private condo in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico!
A one-week stay in a gorgeous beachfront condo in Ocho Rios, Jamaica!

Tickets are priced at $50 each, and can be purchased beginning today at the Idle Muse retail site.  Again, we’re limiting sales to only 200 tickets, so we’ll keep selling tickets until we reach that limit, or until midnight on December 17th. On December 18th, we’ll complete our drawing, in time for the holidays (vacations make great gifts!).

Beyond a chance to win a fabulous prize, your contribution benefits Idle Muse Theatre Company in our upcoming productions, like this winter’s Lonesome Hollow, directed by Lenny Wahlberg, and our move into Rivendell Theatre this summer.  As always, we thank you for whatever you can give, and we hope that you will continue this amazing journey with us!

Sincerely,
Idle Muse Theatre Company

You’re invited to kick-off this year’s season with Colleen Wagner’s searing political drama about despair and hope in wartime:  THE MONUMENT.

Caught up in the political interests of a war he never understood, a young soldier stands convicted of war crimes. Stetko obeyed his superiors only to find, at the end of the war, he is personally responsible for crimes “everyone was doing.” Now his only chance for survival is an enigmatic woman from the enemy side with an agenda he doesn’t understand.

Featuring Idle Muse Ensemble Member Brian Bengston and Babes with Blades Ensemble Member Amy Harmon, this profoundly affecting award-winning drama is a searing exploration of man’s inhumanity in wartime and the question of forgiveness. The Monument examines the paradox of the modern soldier, and the ambiguities of morality and justice.Winner of the 1996 Governor General’s Literary Award for Drama
